Mixing spirits while drinking is never a good idea, they say. But it does take a mélange to create an LIIT. Potent, refreshing, and effective.
Facilitation and Coaching are quite like chalk and cheese, by definition.
But quite like the LIIT, the way you mix them together will determine whether you’ll wake up with a brutal hangover, or with a smile on your face the next day.
Hear me out…
This American MNC that’s revolutionising the renewable energy space has been associated with Réflexions Learning Solutions since a little over 10 months. And while we’ve designed and delivered a couple workshops in the past, yesterday, we embarked on a new journey together.
Some findings, observations, and insights from a previous workshop were put together, and the need for 1:1 coaching was established.
Yesterday, Yathaash Fulwadiwala and I flagged off the first session at their HQ in Hyderabad.
Yathaash is our empaneled Coach, he’s a potential and performance maximiser that works his charm like hot knife on butter. Rest assured, his skill and impact are taller than he is.
This intervention is so uniquely designed, and the outcome has been mind-blowing.
I decided to marry the beauty of facilitation tools with the nuances of coaching. Sounds like an oxymoron, I know. Two different worlds coming together?
Well, you know what they say about opposites attract, when done in the right proportion. Here’s how it went:
The Snakes and Ladders mat was divided into 3 categories, all inviting inward reflection, discovery and clarity:
1) Snakes- profound questions regarding pitfalls, challenges, failures, boundaries, feedback, and more.
2) Ladders- questions highlighting personal strengths, applause, praise, skill set, leadership, and more.
3) Réflexions Zone- reflection points peppered into discussions at random points in the gameplay.
The workshop lasted almost 5 hours, and the competitive gameplay made things more palatable, fun, and profound. The tangibility, magnitude, and gamification were largely applauded by the client 🙂
This 12-week journey has just begun, and I’m so excited to see all that’s about to unfold.
