You know there’s sometimes this one person you somehow just can’t completely tear away from? Keep going back to them, keep finding ways to check-in, reasons to talk, or even keep tabs on them via socials? And then, you may have moved on, yet your past creeps in into your present in fleeting moments, and you’re drawn into flashbacks of nostalgia…
Yeah well that’s the Education Industry for me. (What were you thinking, huh?)
I had a lovely ride in the education industry for 7 years, and then pivoted from learning to learning and development, a little over 3 years ago. While the swanky cabins and glass doors give me purpose, yet, somehow, every once in a while i find myself flirting back with the education industry. Being an ex-educator myself, I can never turn down a project when it’s about educators or students.
Here’s what happened last week.
I was doubly excited as I was pulled in for delivering a virtual 2-day design thinking workshop for a cozy group of educators, from all corners of the country.
The ask?
To explore the concept of design thinking with the educators, and to make it relavant and applicable in their daily job-roles.
This “ex” of mine has such a magnetic aura, that I put on my cheekiest hat and dived into the diagnosis (with the client-sponsor).
Upon a detailed understanding, we revised the learning outcomes to the following:
1) Deep understanding of the 5 stages of design thinking, and its core.
2) Real-life application in fostering student-centric learning experiences
3) Decoding relavant case-studies and testing prototypes.
The prognosis? Stay tuned for the next post for the detailed synopsis and CTA.
The result? So much love!
You know the session was a stellar hit when you ask for one prototype, and the group presents 4 distinct, vividly detailed ones.
The mood-board that screamt “tired” in the beginning, ended on the highest high by the end of the workshop. (Snippets in frame)
Fun fact: would you believe me if I said this entire project was planned and executed in under 36 hours?
Do you think this “ex” of mine feels the same way about me too?
